Located just 20 minutes from our base in Hampshire, Heckfield Place is a luxury country house hotel situated within a stunning 438-acre estate filled with ancient woodland, gardens, and meadows. We absolutely adore working there and were thrilled when Michelle from Pocketful of Dreams approached us about this very special, safari-themed birthday party.
Over the course of several days, we worked alongside Michelle’s incredible production team to create a luxury camp hidden beyond the trees, installing unique, safari-themed floral designs both within and around a giant multi-space marquee. From a lantern-lit pathway complete with life-sized safari wildlife and a stunning stage where guests enjoyed a bespoke ‘Lion King’ style performance, to a dining area transformed into a luxurious safari camp with layer upon layer of intriguing and eclectic details.
We wanted to create the feeling that everything was growing. Every surface, from the bar to the console tables, the dining and poseur tables, featured eclectic floral designs created with vintage roses, orchids, kangaroo paw, anthurium, grasses, thistles, and amaranthus in rich, rustic hues. Touches of lilac and plum added depth and contrast to the rich, and textural floral palette, complimented with masses of foliage throughout. Combined with the themed furniture, lighting, furnishings and Michelle’s incredible attention to detail throughout it really did feel like you were in a tent on safari.
