This luxury winter birthday party took place in early December, at a gorgeous country cottage in rural Berkshire. We worked closely with wonderful Hannah from Maple Rose to plan opulent and elegant floral designs that reflected the season, complimented the grand surroundings, and most importantly set the scene for a truly unforgettable 50th birthday celebration.
As the snow gently fell on a frosty Friday morning our team began work at the entrance to the cottage, creating a stunning 7 by 7-foot arch filled with beautiful and textural, English-grown winter foliage. Tall silver lanterns filled with chunky pillar candles and clusters of frosted pinecones gathered at each the base of the arch adding the final touch to the magnificent and suitably wintry entrance ready to welcome guests.
Inside, we created an equally grand archway brimming with festive spruce, eucalyptus, and white dipped asparagus fern that led the way into the dining room; a stunning space steeped in history with Winston Churchill said to be among those to have dined within the oak-panelled walls. Here, a pair of long, mirrored, banquet-style tables took centre stage filled with an undulation of candlelight and low, all-white floral designs featuring seasonal ranunculi, tulips, calla lilies and hydrangea, hand-tied into neat and elegant domes.
Glass, silver and metallic accents feature throughout reflecting and bouncing the light throughout the space. Clusters of hurricane lanterns filled the fireplace adding to the overall warmth and ambience. The overall effect was welcoming, cosy and undeniably opulent.
