With a love of travel and years of experience working throughout Europe, Paula loves to draw on local inspiration and cultures to create stunning designs to showcase the unique wedding venues and locations for luxury destination weddings in Spain and around the world.
This is exactly what Paula and the team did for this stunning wedding weekend at the Castilla Termal Monasterio De Valbuena in Madrid Spain, captured by the wonderful Carey Sheffield.
Wedding Planner
Paula had the joy of working alongside long term friend and experienced planner Jane Riddell of Planned for Perfection for this epic wedding.
With such an iconic wedding venue in Spain, Paula and the team planned for almost 18 months to create the client’s dream wedding floral designs.
Luxury Destination Wedding Venue In Spain
The three day wedding extravaganza was located at the five star hotel and luxury wedding venue in Spain, Castilla Termal Monasterio De Valbuena. Situated in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, the preserved Cistercian 12th Century monastery was a truly unique wedding venue comprising dramatic architecture, charm and filled with Spanish history that provided a magical backdrop for this luxurious wedding.
As an experienced floral designer of over 25 years, as soon as Paula saw the spaces available and the atmosphere, she decided to design a complete weekend floral experience to highlight the soul within the venue rather than mask or hide the unique features.
Opulent Wedding Floral Design
With multiple areas to design and dress at the luxury wedding venue in Spain , Paula created distinct concepts for each one across the weekend.
The three day experience started with a pre wedding dinner facing the Castilla Termal Monasterio’s vineyard. Paula opted for striking yellow and orange designs with a mixture of dripping orchids, vibrant and architectural calla lilies and fresh fruit from the region. The fabulous colours beamed across the courtyard as the Spanish sun set.
The Big Day
The main setting for the wedding day itself started in the stunning courtyard which provided the backdrop for the wedding ceremony and evening reception.
The Paula Rooney team built a flower-adorned stage in the centre of the space with rows of chairs radiating from it. Working with the stunning architecture, the ramparts of this iconic building were decorated with cascading designs and the aisle was framed by large white urns filled with soft pink and white roses.
The couple and their guests also enjoyed a flower wall in soft pastel tones, ideal for all those self-captured images in this beautiful setting
White Party
The couple’s white party ended the three day celebration. At the relaxed finale Paula created a floral wall decorated with tropical foliage, cascading orchids and bespoke initials.
The fun white party vibe was the perfect way to end this sumptuous three day wedding extravaganza.
