It was a delight to be entrusted to plan, style and flower the sensational 3-day launch event at the newly reopened Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor. The venue is the epitome of Mallorca luxury, with sublime coastal views, glamorous interiors and a rich history.

The resort was initially opened in 1929 and is renowned for its distinguished guests, thanks to the venue’s high level of service and inspirational setting. The 1200 acre estate is nestled in Serra de Tramuntana, offering breathtaking landscapes and outdoor adventure for travellers.

For weddings and events, Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor has an array of beautiful spaces including the chic Cap de Formentor Ballroom, Shima Restaurant, bountiful landscaped gardens and picturesque terraces. We’re going to take a glimpse at this wonderful location, the bespoke planning, styling and flower design by the team here at Paula Rooney Floral Design in these graceful images taken by Lila Photo.

Day 1 – Effortlessly Beautiful Reception

We designed an array of flower arrangements and arranged many bespoke touches to complement the resort over the 3 days. Our team worked in cohesion with the staff at Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor to seamlessly bring visual wonder to their event. We bring a wealth of experience and creative vision when tasked with providing event design for large weddings and events such as this.

In each setting during the launch, we worked with the idyllic surroundings to build the full vision, beginning with the welcome reception. The grand entrance to this luxurious venue was bejewelled with seasonal produce and natural-style florals bursting with warmth. Scented potted herbs and trailing greenery set the sensory scene as the launch event guests made their arrival.

We placed chic rubber rings in the pool, which gently floated on the turquoise water as the sun set and the evening lights twinkled.

Day 2 – Vineyard Lunch

The second day saw an al fresco lunch served in the romantic vineyard, with one long table spanning as far as the eye can see in an aisle of grape-laden vines.

A fresh green and white palette in the styling reflected the lush green surroundings. A floral print tablecloth, rattan place mats, green linen and glassware set off our vibrant green table flowers to perfection.

We selected the luxurious linen from British tableware brand Maison Margaux and the elegant ceramic pieces from a local artisan in Mallorca.

The blooms were designed to be low enough for guests to enjoy one another’s company, while grapes and asparagus gave a nod to the spectacular harvests in this dreamy location.

A live-roaming band accompanied by flowing wine produced by the winery and delicious seasonal cuisine set the tone for the remainder of the launch.

Day 2 – Spanish Fiesta

Come evening, day turned to night with a traditional Spanish fiesta. We put together striking stalls and organised prop hire of the most beautiful items, which gave an authentic yet rustic feel reflective of the setting.

The historic courtyard was adorned with organic-style flowers, seasonal fruit and vegetables in natural tones reminiscent of the resort’s location. Hydrangeas and amaranthus were the central building blocks of our floral concept here.

The wooden crates delivered authenticity to the styling giving a rustic look that ties in beautifully with the worn cobblestones and textured walls.

As the sun set, overhead festoon lights twinkled as traditional dancers entertained the resort’s guests.

Day 3 – Gala Reception

Day 3 showcased the finale of the whole event with an exquisite formal reception dinner in 5-star surroundings, where we executed the planning and styling to perfection.

We designed romantic displays of fuchsia and orange blooms framing the Four Seasons Resort Mallorca at Formentor backdrop, where guests could have their photograph taken.

Inside the elegant dining space, guests were seated at round tables. We designed the centrepieces to be different heights, one low and the other a tall arrangement set on a frame with tall candles flickering in the evening light.

Foliage featured heavily, accenting the rich tones of the selected flowers. They really were the focal point of the room.

Entertainment took place during the meal before guests ventured outside to the modern pool area where fire breathers made for the perfect end to this very special occasion.

The launch was a breathtaking demonstration of the possibilities for weddings and celebrations in the resort’s decadent, versatile spaces.
