REAL WEDDINGS | ANNABELLE & JUSTIN | EAST MEON
Annabelle and Justin tied the knot on Saturday 9th July 2016 in a stunning ceremony at All Saints Church, East Meon followed by their reception at Annabelle’s beautiful family home. With breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside, it was the perfect setting to say “I do”.
All Saint’s church is a historic and Norman building in the heart of the idyllic East Hampshire village. The ancient walls of the church posed a few challenges to Paula’s team when installing Belle and Justin’s floral arch of roses, stocks, hydrangea, delphinium and eucalyptus which outlined the entrance of the church. Some tricks of the trade were used to achieve the luxurious end result!
The colour palette of the day consisted of whites, creams, pale pinks, soft greys and greens peppered with gentle blues. Annabelle’s bouquet was a beautiful, loosely tied collection of soft pink secret garden roses, cream David Austin roses, pale pink astilbe, pale green astrantia and a little eucalyptus foliage, all bound with an ivory ribbon and secured with pearl pins. Belle’s striking wedding dress by Caroline Castigliano greatly complimented her bespoke bouquet!
Tall silver birch trees lined the church aisle with a bed of summer flowers springing up beneath each one. Paula seamlessly achieved a feeling of the great outdoors indoors in the most elegant way which provided a beautiful setting for their wedding ceremony. Statement floral designs composed of the flowers of the day cascaded from large stone urns positioned either side of the arch which led to the altar.
For the drinks reception, the pagoda at Annabelle’s family home was draped in flowing white muslin with beautiful floral designs framing each corner. This provided a great focal point for the formal photographs.
Tall silver vases bursting with full floral designs adorned the dining tables inside the marquee. Silver punch bowls on mirrored bases with lower arrangements complimented the taller floral designs, and the combination of height added depth and complexity to the overall pristine, elegant effect. We adored the table plan with its moss frame and luxurious draping flowers; it was quite the go-to for all the guests.
Although the day followed formal proceedings, there was a relaxed and fun atmosphere at all times. Working with the Bride, Groom and their families was a joy and pleasure; they were extremely warm and welcoming with a strong vision that enabled Paula to make their dreams become a reality. Following a visit to the wedding venue Paula enjoyed a relaxed Sunday lunch with the Bride’s family where she and the Mother of the Bride, Philippa, discovered they both attended the same small primary school!
We were thrilled to receive a special word of thanks from the Mother of the Bride who was so pleased with our flowers that she hinted we should keep our thinking caps on for the next big day- they have two other daughters!
“Thank you very much to you and all your amazing team for creating the most beautiful wedding setting. It was truly inspirational and the best I’ve ever seen. Words fail me but thank you. We will know where to come next time though it’s hard to know how we could match that again without a carbon copy. You utter star.” –Mother of the Bride, Philippa.
Along with our creative collaborators, we wish to say a special thank you to Annabelle and Justin for inviting us to be a part of your special day in East Meon. May the memories last for an eternity! The photographs were taken by none other than Hugo Burnand – the Royal Photographer. We are honoured to be able to share a selection of these with you.
